How to see who doesn’t follow you back on Threads

Threads is linked to your Instagram account, but its followers are separate. Many people followed hundreds of accounts at once when they joined, by importing their Instagram follows. The result: a long list, and no way in the app to see who doesn’t follow you back.

Your official data has the answer. Here’s how to get it, without a password or a risky app.

Step 1: include Threads in your export

1. In Instagram or Threads, open Accounts Center → Your information and permissions → Export your information.
2. Create an export to your device and select your Threads profile (you can select Instagram too).
3. Include at least Followers and following, in JSON format.
4. Download the ZIP when Meta emails you.

Step 2: compare your Threads lists

Drop the ZIP into FollowersChecker. It detects the Threads lists automatically, and a switch in the Followers tab lets you go from Instagram to Threads. You get:

• the accounts that don’t follow you back on Threads;
• your fans, who follow you without you following them;
• your mutuals;
• a button to open each profile directly on Threads.

Instagram and Threads are separate

• Unfollowing someone on Threads doesn’t unfollow them on Instagram, and the other way around.
• Someone can follow you back on Instagram but not on Threads: compare both lists to see the difference.
• Brands and creators followed during the import rarely follow back. Use Ignore to hide them.

Then clean up safely
